Climb the steps to Ikaho-jinja Shrine for good luck and great views

Ikaho-jinja Shrine dates back to 825. Deities of hot springs and medicine are enshrined here, demonstrating the importance of the town's therapeutic onsen.

Locals say that climbing Ikaho's 365 stone steps to reach the shrine brings good luck and improves fortunes. The town’s shops and cafes line the stairs, so there are plenty of opportunities to rest along the route.

Once you reach the top, the shrine is a beautiful place to look out across Ikaho.
