A historical geisha house reborn
This lovingly restored structure in the charming town of Kiriyu was once a geisha house. Now it is a stylish guesthouse, welcoming visitors around the world with comfortable rooms and mediterannean cuisine. Rooms are simply furnished with tatami mat flooring, paper shoji screens and comfortable futon bedding. Guests can use the shared bathroom, laundry and kitchen. After a day exploring the area, join the owners and other guests at the onsite tapas bar. The chef is Argentinian and will introduce dishes from his hometown, along with wine and good music. Many of the ingredients come from the guest house's farm, just 20 minutes away. The guesthouse owners are fluent in English, Japanese and Spanish and can recommend beautiful sightseeing spots and experiences in the area, including local festivals, craft ateliers and a kimono dressing experience.
