Prayers offered at the onsen area for everyone’s health
The festival involves a ritual where the hot spring water of Shima Onsen is boiled in a large cauldron. Bamboo grass is then used to sprinkle this water over the surrounding onlookers in the hopes of warding off harm and bringing good health.
