Last updated: July 29, 2021

A rare opportunity to see an unusual fireworks display

Fireworks displays are popular summer events in Japan, but the Tatebayashi Arm-Held Fireworks Festival offers a special twist. Participants hold bamboo tubes filled with gunpowder called "tezutsu hanabi" which, when lit, create extravagant fountains of fire that reach up to 10 meters high.

This event features 72 arm-held fireworks as well as 2,000 standard launched fireworks.
