A riot of colors brighten this tall peak
The towering peak of Mt. Nikko-Shirane (2,578 m) is ablaze with color as the trees on its slopes turn autumnal shades from late September to mid-October.
The spectacle is best viewed from the ropeway, which whisks you from an elevation of 1,400 meters to 2,000 meters.
